What to Expect
Explore the very best of Western Zambia on an epic 11-day expedition spanning untamed wilderness, remote rivers, vast floodplains, and some of Africa’s most exclusive safari destinations.
The Royal Barotse Safari follows a carefully curated journey through Western Zambia’s most remarkable wilderness areas, beginning with a charter flight into Mutemwa Airstrip and a warm welcome at Mutemwa Lodge on the Upper Zambezi River. From here, guests travel into the remote wilderness of Sioma Ngwezi National Park, where they camp in complete seclusion and experience one of the country’s most untouched safari environments. The journey then follows the life-giving waters of the Kwando River, offering exceptional fishing, birding, and close-up river wildlife encounters in pristine surroundings. Continuing north, guests explore the dramatic landscapes of Ngonye Falls before reaching the vast open plains of Liuwa Plains National Park, home to Africa’s second-largest wildebeest migration. The safari concludes with a private charter flight out of Liuwa, completing an unforgettable circuit through some of the most remote and diverse wilderness regions in Southern Africa.
